The Cheviot valleys are a stunning location for a wildlife and birdwatching trip in early-May. Our mini-break will be lead by Northern Experience Wildlife Tours senior guide Martin Kitching. This exclusive event begins with dinner followed by a slide show on Tuesday evening and then an early start on Wednesday morning will see us making an exclusive visit to a Black Grouse lek on the Otterburn ranges. Back to Otterburn Tower for breakfast and then out into Coquetdale for a whole day searching for waders,raptors,grouse and riverine birds that inhabit this wild and spectacular part of Northumberland. Organise a team of 8 guns to come Pheasant and Partridge shooting in Northumberland. Longwitton shoot is under the same management as Otterburn Tower Hotel. This commercial shoot covers 2000 acres of woods, grassland and arable fields. Dennis Stevenson is head keeper and has a lifetime of experience presenting the finest birds from this rolling Northumbrian shooting estate. Arrive at the Otterburn Tower in time for lunch and to start your first lesson under experienced instruction at Otterburn Sporting Clays. The chefs at the Otterburn Tower use only the finest of local produce - often from the owners farm. The dining room goes back to the 16th century with its oak panelling and stained glass windows.
